    Parker’s Donates $3,800 to Support Students and Teachers at Tattnall County Schools

    Parker’s Chief of Staff Kate Smith (right) recently presented a Fueling the Community check for $3,800 to Tattnall County Schools. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Gina Williams (left) accepted the donation on behalf of the school system on Oct. 6.

Child Find

In accordance with IDEA regulations, the Tattnall County School system seeks to ensure that all disabled students (ages birth-21) who are in need of special education within its jurisdiction are identified, located, and evaluated, including those who are homeless, wards of the State, highly mobile, incarcerated, or are attending private school and home school. Final identification of students with disabilities and programming for such students occurs only after an appropriate evaluation and a determination by a Multidisciplinary Place Team.

If the “child find” progress indicated that a student may require special education and supportive services in order to benefit from regular education, the student shall be referred to the Multidisciplinary Placement Team to determine the student’s eligibility for special education services.
